Founded on February 27th, 1992 by Todd Bray and Dick Kirchen,
The Krewe of Fort Brooke has enjoyed a sterling record in the
community.
Our first float was a
"brand new" 1978 International Harvestor school bus which was
converted to a replica pioneer fort. The Krewe added a
sailing ship float called the William and Henry, after the ship
that Colonel George Mercer Brooke sailed into Tampa Bay in 1824.

There was a Tampa Bay then, but Fort Brooke was the
settlement the city developed around. The Fort Brooke Park, which was
pioneered by the Krewe, marks the spot.
The official Krewe of Fort Brooke credo is JFC, which stands for
"Justice, Fortitude and Courage". However, ask anyone who knows
our Krewe and they will tell you that it is proof that we are "Just
a Friendly Club."
The
Krewe of Fort Brooke celebrates local history, performs
community services, and assists local government as the
situations arise. We also have a lot of fun doing it.
